IDX-listed PT ABM Investama Tbk said that its coal mine in Aceh run by PT Mifa Bersaudara (MIFA) is expected to enter commercial production stage in July of 2014.
?MIFA targets commercial production phase to commence by July 2014,? ABM Investama said in a 2013 annual report released on Thursday.
ABM Investama, through its sub-holding firm PT Reswara Minergi Hartama, acquired in 2011 a controlling 70 percent stake in PT Media Djaya Bersama (MDB), which fully owns to coal mines in Aceh, each run by MIFA and another firm called PT Bara Energi Lestari (BEL).
The MIFA 3,134 hectares coal concession, located in West Aceh Regency, produced 236,000 tons of coal last year, or an increased by more than 7 times compared to 30,000 tons in 2012, the annual report said.
Meanwhile, the BEL 1,495 ha concession located in neighboring Nagan Raya Regency, produced 120,000 tons of coal last year, up 21.3 percent from 107,000 tons in 2012. All of BEL coals are dedicated to a coal-fined power plant with a of 15 MW capacity owned by PT Energi Alam Semesta, a member of ABM Group under PT Sumberdaya Sewatama, which is located nearby BEL?s mining area, the report added.
?In 2013, MIFA was still in development project. Therefore MIFA still used public facilities such as local government?s road and port to support its operations,? ABM said.
After mid 2014, MIFA will enter commercial phase concurrently with the completion of required infrastructure, including supporting facilities such as office, workshop and base camp, coal processing factory, crusher and stockpiles, main transport road and overland conveyor belt, coal handling facilities and special port facilities for coal transshipment and shipment, report said.
