IDX-listed PT ABM Investama Tbk said that coal output during the first semester of this year increased by more than 33 percent to 2.4 million tons from 1.8 million tons in the same period of last year.

?Increasing production is part of the company?s long term program,? Corporate Secretary Ade Satari told Petromindo.com Tuesday.

He said that the entire coal output came from the company?s Tunas Inti Abadi concession in South Kalimantan, all of which have been contracted with buyers. ?We have been engaged in long-term contracts with traders who sell our coal to end users in China and India,? Ade said.

ABM this year aims to produce 6 million tons of coal. ?We plan to have additional production from our concession in Aceh, which is expected to start commercial production at the end of this year,? he said.
