Mifa said in a statement the firm is the first coal company in the province which has developed integrated operation facilities.
The governor in his speech said Aceh has coal potential resources which remain unknonwn to many people outside of the province. The operation of Mifa?s integrated operation facilities will open the eyes of people outside Aceh to the fact that the province is rich with coal resources and Aceh is a good place to invest.
?Mifa invested Rp 2 trillion to build the facilities. This proves that Aceh is a proper and comfortable place for investment in various sectors. The Aceh government and people will provide supports for a smooth operation of the firm,? Zaini said.
He also said he will push state owned electrricty firm PT Perusahaaan Listrik Negara (PLN) to use coal produced in the province for its power plant in the province.
Mifa is a subsidiary of PT Media Djaja Bersama (MDB), which is part of Reswara Minergi Hartama Group, a subsidiry of PT ABM Investama Tbk. The integrated operation facilities entered commercial phase in the beginning of 2015, which was marked by an export of coal from the firn?s mine to India through a special terminal developed by the firm in Peunaga Cut Ujong, Meurebo. Aceh Barat, the firm said in a statement.
Mifa is thus the first coal company in the province to bring the province?s coal to the international market, according to the firm.
The firm targets to produce 3 million tons of coal this year and the production will steadily raised up to 15 million tons per year in the coming years, the company said.
Mifa?s President Director Slamet Haryadi expressed appreciation to all supports given by the local govenment and people to the firm.
He explained that the firm has built integrated infrastructures from mine pits to loading port and transhipment point. At the mining site, the firm has built two coal crushing plants, each with the capacity of 750 tons per hour. The coal, after being crushed to to sizes in line with customers? specification demand, is transported using trucks over 12.5 km hauling road to the special terminal. The road does not pass residential areaas, thus the activity will not disturb local people. From the special terminal, the coal is then delivered to a jetty through an oveland coveyor (OLC) belt passing the Meulaboh-Tapaktuan national road. At the jetty, the coal is loaded onto barges using a barge loading conveyor (BLC). The BLC has a capacity of 4,500 tons per hour.
