Aceh people asks permit from Pertamina to develop Perlak field

PT Pertamina EP (PEP), the subsidiary of state owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina, said it had received a request from ?Aceh people? that they may operate the Perlak field in the province in a joint operation scheme (KSO).

?PEP has yet to make a decision on the request,? PEP?s Spokesman Agus Amperianto told Petromindo.com on Monday.

He did not specify who ?the Aceh people? are.

The Perlak field was previously operated by PT Pacific Oil and Gas in KSO scheme with Pertamina but the former has returned the field to Pertamina.

Agus said PEP is focused on finding solutions to its dispute with the local people who has encroached on its wells in Ramba block in Mangunjaya area in South Sumatra.
