Aceh's LNG exports reach $420.77 million Oct-Dec period

Exports of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) from Aceh province reached 1.7 million tons, with total foreign exchange earnings of US$420.77 million during the period of October to December, last year, Antara news agency reported on Thursday, quoting the local trade office.

Exports of condensate from the province in the same period totaled 205,700 tons with earnings of $52.47 million.

The LNG and condensate exports were shipped through the Blang Lancang port in North Aceh to South Korea, Japan and Singapore.

Korea imported 890,172 tons of LNG worth $228.85 million and 66,550 tons of condensate worth $16.97 million from Aceh in the period from October to December. During the same period, Japan also imported 815,052 tons of LNG worth $191.91 million from the province.

Singapore also imported 139,150 tons of condensate worth $35.5 million tons from the province in the period of October to December last month.

The province's foreign currency earnings from LNG and condensate exports from the province reached $473.25 million. In the period of January to September, the earnings from LNG and condensate exports totaled $1.12 billion. This makes total exports of LNG and condensate in 2000 to reach 1.59 billion, down from $1.61 billion in 1999. (*)
