State oil and gas company Pertamina said on Tuesday that it had reached agreement with fertilizer maker PT Pupuk Iskandar Muda (PIM) to supply natural gas from ExxonMobil?s Arun gas field to feed the latter?s fertilizer plant expansion known as PIM II.
?ExxonMobil would start supplying 20 MMCFD to PIM II end of 2003 and would gradually increase to 60 MMCFD the following year,? said Effendi Situmorang, Pertamina?s production sharing management director.
Effendi further said that gas supply from ExxonMobil is still adequate to feed other ferilizer plants; PIM I and AAF and papermill PT Kertas Kraft Aceh.
"Gas supply for those plants is adequate after ExxonMobil shutdown their gas field for months last year," he said.
ExxonMobil was forced to halt its Aceh gas production on worsening security condition.(alex)
