Tens of activists grouped in the institute for Humanity and Justice rallied on Tuesday at the Ministry of Mines and Energy demanding the closure of copper and gold mine company PT Freeport Indonesia.

The group accused the company of violating human rights, demaging environment and local culture in Irian Jaya.

The group also demanded the government bring to justice Freeport's leaders for corrupt practices and account for the mining royalties paid by the company. (*)
