Adaro achieves new coal output record in Q1

South Kalimantan based coal producer PT Adaro Indonesia has achieved new output record by producing approximately 8.14 million tons in the first quarter of 2006, up from 7.47 million tons in the previous quarter or increased 36 percent compared to the same period last year.

A company official told Petromindo.Com that Adaro would make similar level of production in the second quarter.

Adaro has targeted to produce around 32 million tons of coal this year, significantly higher compared to 26.69 million tons last year, following the improvement of its barging fleet and ship loading systems.

According to the company?s annual review, Adaro?s 2006 output was all contracted by the end of the year with 85 percent of it priced.

The company?s infrastructure upgrades have increased production capacity to 38 million tons per year. (godang)
