Adaro Energy to acquire coal mines in this year

Publicly listed energy company PT Adaro Energy Tbk plans to acquire two or three coal mining companies this year in order to increase the company?s coal reserves.
The company?s president director Garibaldi Thohir said in Jakarta on Wednesday that Adaro planned to take over two or three coal mining companies in South Sumatra, Central and East Kalimantan. He said that the acquisition targets should have at least 100 million tonnes of coal reserves with a calorie of about 5,000 kcal/kg.
He said that East Kalimantan coal group PT Bhakti Energi Persada (BEP) is one of the company?s target. Negotiations with BEP had been conducted since last year and still going on, he said without give a timeline. (*)
