Adaro Energy update: Maritim Barito Perkasa

PT Maritim Barito Perkasa (MBP)

MBP is a key barging and shiploading contractor for AI. During the third quarter of 2013, coal volume from AI accounted for 94% and 100% of MBP?s total coal barged and coal loaded to ships, respectively. MBP increase coal barged by 4% to 7.07 Mt in 3Q13 from 6.81 Mt in 2Q13 due to an increase in coal production from AI and accounted for a greater percentage of AI?s volumes, 49% in 3Q13 versus 48% in 2Q13.

MBP received delivery of three sets of 15,000 dead weight tonne (DWT) barges in the beginning of 3Q13. These barge and tug sets became operational in 3Q13 and contributed to the increase in barging and shiploading activities in the quarter. (end of edited excerpt)
