Private power company PT Adaro Power, a subsidiary of IDX-listed coal giant PT Adaro Energi Tbk, is preparing to participate in tender for the construction of Kaltim-3 coal-fired power plant and Jawa Bali-4 combined cycle power plant projects.
Adaro Corporate Secretary Febriati Nadira told Petromindo.com on Friday that the company is currently also waiting for the tender result of the Jawa-1 combined cycle gas power plant project, with capacity of 1,600 MW. She said that the company submitted the bid document on August 25.
?After Jawa-1, we?re preparing for Kaltim 3, and studying (the possibility of participating in tender for) Jawa Bali-4,? Febriati said.
State-owned power firm PT PLN announced the PQ tender in August for the Kaltim-3 coal-fired power plant project with capacity of 1x200 MW in East Kalimantan, and Jawa Bali-4 combined cycle/gas engine power plant project with capacity of 450 MW in West Java.
Adaro is diversifying into power plant business as part of efforts to reduce dependency on coal as source of revenue as the sector has been hit by multi-year downturn.
