Adaro eyes PLTGU Peaker Jawa-Bali 3 and 4 projects

Independent power producer PT Adaro Power is still interested to participate in new tender for PLTGU Peaker Jawa-Bali 3 and PLTGU Peaker Jawa-Bali 4 gas and coal-fired power plant projects even after state-owned electricity firm PT PLN canceled recent tender for the two projects without clear reason.

?If (PLN) later opens the tender again, we?re ready to participate,? said Vice President Director of Adaro Power, Dharma Djojonegoro on Thursday. Adaro Power is a subsidiary of IDX-listed coal giant PT Adaro Energy Tbk.

The 500 MW PLTGU Jawa-Bali 3 project is planned to be developed in Banten Province, while the 450 MW PLTGU Jawa-Bali 4 in West Java Province. The two are part of the government?s 35,000 MW power plant development program.

It is said that PLN is set to soon reopen pre-qualification tender for the two power plant projects.
