?Adaro?s production of the ultra clean ?Envirocoal? is highly sought after y cusumers and is fully contracted for the calendar year 2004,? said NHC in its half-yearly report to the ASX.
NHC said during the August 2003-January 2004 period, Adaro produced and sold 12 million tons of coal, of which 40 percent went to domestic market.
Adaro administration manager Priyadi said Adaro is on track to produce 22 million tons of coal this year despite production disruption earlier this year due to locals blockade.
NHC added that Adaro is upgrading its haul road to improve efficiency. Priyadi said Adaro?s 80 km haul road would be asphalted this year to improve efficiency and to cut trucks maintenance costs.
Adaro, said NHC, is also commencing mining evaluation of mining potential of the large low grade but clean Wara deposit. Priyadi said the deposit would likely be exploited to feed mine mouth power plant, which is planned to be built by third party in South Kalimantan. Wara is located in the northern part of Tutupan mine.
Meanwhile, NHC also reported that trading volume of its Singapore-based coal trading arm Coaltrade Service International Pte. Ltd.
