IDX-listed PT Adaro Indonesia is reported to have produced about 6.8-7 million tons of coal from its new pit Wara in 2012, higher compared to 2011 production of 5.4 million tons, an industrial source told Petromindo.Com

The figure is not audited yet, the source said, adding that although it surpasses the pit's output in 2011, it's considerably lower than the previously set target of 8-10 million tons.

Coal from Wara is sold under the E4000 brand name, which has a lower calorific value and higher moisture content compared to Adaro?s E5000.

Wara commenced production in 2010 at the output rate of 2.5 million tons. Its key markets include power utilities in India, China, Indonesia, South Korea, Hong Kong and Thailand.
