Adaro hit by demonstration

Coal mining firm PT Adaro Indonesia has been badly affected by the massive demonstration staged by thousands of workers of PT Pamaspersada Nusantara, Adaro's contractor.

Pamapersada personnel manager Supriadi Sudomo said that Adaro had given Pamapersada a warning. He didn't give details.

But Supriadi said that the demonstration had not only affected Pamapersada but also Adaro's operation.

The workers had been demonstrating for days demanding better salaries and compensation including housing facilities. (*)
