Indonesia ?s single largest coal producing mine, PT Adaro Indonesia (AI) has received the environmental impact assessment (AMDAL) approval from the Ministry of Environment to produce 80 million tons per year, parent company, PT Adaro Energy has said.
Some of the assessments include detailed environmental impact analysis, environmental management plan and environmental monitoring plan, Adaro said.
?We continue with our effort to prepare all necessary requirements to support our medium term production volume target of 80 million tons a year,? Adaro said, without giving the timeline, although according to an earlier statement Adaro plans to reach 80 million tons per year in 2014.
Adaro is expecting to produce around 50-53 million tons this year, up from last year?s total output of 47.2 million tons.
