Adaro Indonesia expands coal mining area

South Kalimantan-based coal mining company PT Adaro Indonesia has begun exploration activities in Paringin and Halong districts as part of the company?s expansion plan.

The company has carried out exploration activities in 13 areas in the two districts, but the local people complained that the company had not reported its activities to the heads of the villages.

The residents feared that the exploration activities could provoke misunderstanding. "The company should abide by the local village?s regulation," one of the residents said.
