Indonesia?s top coal producer PT. Adaro Indonesia may exceed this year?s production target of 20 million tons as production indicators had shown encouraging results, company official said.
?During the first half of the year, we will be able to produce 10.4 million tons and each month afterward, we see production of 1.8 million tons per month. So, in the absence of labour disruption that may hamper production, we could reach in excess of 21 million tons in 2002,? said Priyadi, the company?s administration manager on a sideline of Coaltrans conference in Bali Tuesday.
Priyadi said weather is no longer one of the primary factors for production increase as it had already hardening the road within its mining contract area. ?We are no longer depending very much on good weather now,? he said.
Adaro operates a huge coalmine in South Kalimantan. (alex)
