IDX-listed coal giant PT Adaro Energy Tbk said it is optimistic to be able to meet this year?s coal output target despite the unusual heavier and longer rainy season.
?Although rainfall rate (this year) is higher than last year?s, we?re thankful that we?re still on track to achieve production target,? said Director David Tendian to Petromindo.com recently.
David said the company has set coal production target of 52 million-54 million tons this year.
The company said earlier that coal production in the first semester of this year fell to 25.13 million tons from 25.86 million tons in the same period of last year due to heavy rainfall in the period. But first-half sales this year inched up to 25.27 million tons from 25.13 million tons in the corresponding period of last year.
David said the company is optimistic about the industry outlook this year amid recovery in the price of the commodity.
