Adaro plans power plant project in W. Kalimantan

Power company PT Adaro Power, a subsidiary of IDX-listed coal giant PT Adaro Energy Tbk, plans to develop a coal-fired power plant in West Kalimantan Province, teaming up with PT Indonesia Power (IP), a subsidiary of state-owned electricity firm PT PLN.

This was revealed by Dharma Djojonegoro, Vice President of Adaro Power on Friday, but did not provide further details.

Previously, Adaro Power President Director Mohmad Effendi said the company will team up with IP to jointly develop a 2x100 MW mine mouth coal-fired power plant in East Kalimantan Province. IP will hold a 51 percent stake in the joint venture project, while Adaro 49 percent.

He said that feasibility study on the planned project is in progress. No further details were provided.
