IDX-listed PT Adaro Energy Tbk is still in the process of discussing the power purchase agreement (PPA) of electricity produced by the steam power plant (PLTU) Kalsel in South Kalimantan.

"We're still discussing it with PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN). Hopefully, we can reach an agreement soon," David Tendian, director of Adaro, told Petromindo.com in Jakarta on Thursday.

He pointed out that he did not know for sure about the issue being discussed wth PLN. "What's for sure is that we're willing to contribute for the development of power system in this country," he said.

According to him, the PLTU which will have a generation capacity of 2x100 megawatts (MW) will be built by Adaro Power, a subsidiary of Adaro Energy, in cooperation with East Wast Power (EWP) of South Korea.

The power project will be financed by an investment company from South Korea and it is expected to start commercial operation in 2016.
