Adaro Power eyes solar power plant projects

Independent power producer PT Adaro Power is planning to participate in tender of several solar power plant (PLTS) projects in Sumatra to be held by state-owned electricity firm PT PLN.
Vice President Director of Adaro Power, Dharma Djojonegoro said on Thursday that the company was looking to participate in tender of five packages of PLTS projects of the total six packages with combined capacity of 168 MW offered by PLN.
He said that the five packages have a combined capacity of about 100 MW. ?We?ll participate in five packages, each cluster with capacity of around 20 MW. We submitted the prequalification document last week,? he said, adding that renewable energy sector in the country is quite promising.
Adaro Power, a subsidiary of IDX-listed coal giant PT Adaro Energy Tbk, has previously developed a 2 MW solar power plant project in Kalimantan with investment of US$1 million per MW.
