Adaro receives Primaniyarta award

P.T. Adaro Indonesia, Indonesia?s largest coal mining company based in South Kalimantan received the Primaniyarta Award 2001 sponsored by the Department of Industry and Trade.

The successful recipients were judged on the value of exports, industrial relations, tax payments, environmental performance, skills transfer and low indebtedness (borrowings) over the last 5 years.

Adaro was selected as South Kalimantan?s representative for the Award with exports of its internationally famous ?envirocoal? (?) valued at more than US$ 1.0 billion over the period reviewed.

In 2000 P.T. Adaro Indonesia produced 16.0 million tonnes of coal which is expected to increase to more than 18.0 million tonnes in the current year.

The company is 51 percent owned by Indonesian shareholders and 49 percent by Australian and USA interests.(godang)
