Adaro reports increased Q1 production

South Kalimantan top coal miner PT Adaro Indonesia produced 5.99 million tons of coal in the first quarter of 2005 as planned, up 230,000 tons compared to the previous quarter?s production.
Company administration manager Priyadi said Thursday operations at the mine were continuing normally despite the rain season in the first quarter. ?All infrastructures and equipments are in top condition,? Priyadi said.
Priyadi also said during the quarter Adaro exported around 3.56 million tons of coal, while around 2.39 million tons were sold to domestic markets mainly to Paiton and Suralaya coal-fired power plants.
?Adaro targeted to produce between 6 and 7.5 million tons of in the second quarter,? Priyadi added.
Adaro plans to increase its coal production by 15 percent to 28 million tons from last year?s production of 24.33 million tons. (dino)
