Coal mining firm PT Adaro Indonesia has resumed normal operations after workers strike that hit its main contractor ended Saturday, according to a company official.

Adaro?s administration manager Priyadi, told Petromindo.com Sunday that workers of PT Pama Persada Nusantara, which had been on strike since October 6, had returned to work.

The labor strike had cut Adaro's daily production by 80 percent, forcing the company to declare force majeur to its buyers. Normally, it produced 60,000 tons of coal per day.

Adaro, which operates a coalmine in South Kalimantan, is the country?s largest coal producer.

Adaro?s stake is 50 percent owned by New Hope Corporation Limited, through its wholly owned subsidiary Indonesia Coal Pty Limited, while Mission Energy and a local company PT Asminco hold 10 percent and 40 percent, respectively. (godang)
