Adaro?s coal production goes on

Coal production still goes on at PT Adaro Indonesia?s coal mines in Central Kalimantan despite an order from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources for the company to stop all blasting activities.

?Even though there are no blasting activities, production activities are going on,? Adaro?s general manager Priyadi told Petromindo.Com on Thursday.

He admitted that the ministry had ordered the firm to stop all blasting activities by the firm?s contractors.

The order was issued following a fatal incident on Sunday that killed two workers. The workers of PT Pama Persada, a contractor of Adaro, were reportedly killed after soil and coal stones fell on them.

Priyadi said Adaro had evaluated the standard operating procedure of Pama and decided to stop the contractor?s operation. (Godang)
