Adaro?s Q3 production relatively unchanged

Indonesian top coal producer PT. Adaro Indonesia recorded third quarter production of 5.512 million tons, relatively unchanged compared to second quarter production of 5.8 million tons.

The company?s administration manager Priyadi told Petromindo.Com on Monday that cumulative 2003 production had reached 16.5 million tons, and the fourth quarter production is targeted at around 5 million tons.

?We are on track to meet or to slightly exceed 2003 production target,? said Priyadi. Adaro earlier set production target at 21 million tons.

Earlier, an Adaro senior official said Adaro had no plan to further increase production capacity and saw production to hover between 21-23 million tons per annum within the next few years.

Adaro currently has large customers basis in Indonesia and overseas and sells 95 percent of its product in long-term contract.

Adaro operates a huge coal mine in South Kalimantan. (godang)
