PT Servo Meda Sejahtera (SMS) aims to start the commercial operation of its coal jetty in Lematang, South Sumatra, in September of 2012.
Devindra Ratzarwin, Corporate Secretary of PT Adaro Energy, which has a 35 percent stake in SMS, said late Monday that the construction of the port facility has been 99 percent completed.
?Trial operation involving three barges until end of June has been implemented. We target that it will start commercial operation in September 2012,? Devindra said, adding that the jetty will have a capacity of 25 million tons per year, with loading capacity of 2x2,000 tons per hour.
The port, constructed to help facilitate the transport of coal from concessions in the Lahat and Muara Enim areas to Tanjung Api-Api via the Musi River, will also have a stockpile facility over a 4 ha land.
