Indonesian top coal producer Adaro recorded coal production of 11 million tons in the first half of 2003, slightly higher than last year?s corresponding period production of 10.4 million tons.

?Production is in line with the plan. During the first half of the year, operations ran smoothly,? the company?s administration manager Priyadi told Petromindo.Com on Wednesday.

He said the company is on track to meet this year?s production target of 22 million tons.

Earlier, a company official said that Adaro has no plan to further boost production capacity and production was set to hover between 22-23 MTPA in the next few years.

Adaro currently has large customer basis in Indonesia and overseas and sells 95 percent of its product in long-term contract.

Adaro operates a huge coalmining in South Kalimantan. (godang)
