Adaro seeks end to overlapping of concessions in S. Kalimantan

IDX-listed coal giant PT Adaro Energy Tbk said it is seeking to end the current overlapping of concessions located in Tabalong and Balangan regencies, South Kalimantan province, with PT Maritime Coal Mining (MCM).

Adaro Energy President Director Garibaldi Tohir was quoted by kontan.co.id on Thursday that the company is currently in talks with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources to seek for a resolution to the land conflict that has started in 2013.

Garibaldi acknowledged that that the concessions are relatively small in size, but the company has contractual right of the concessions which have already been in production.

He added that MCM has proposed for a joint development of the concession, but Adaro has been turned down the offer. (*)
