PT Adaro Indonesia, one of the country's coal producers, plans to increase coal production to about 32 million tons next year from about 28 million tons this year to take the advantage of the expected surge in international coal prices, Investor Daily reported on Tuesday.

"We will further develop the currently untapped coal deposits to increase the production," said Priyadi, an administration manager of the East Kalimantan-based coal producer.

According to him, PT Adaro which produces about 28 million tons this year still has many untapped coal reserves to be developed. "The development of the untapped mining areas is expected to further increase Adaro's coal production," he added. (*)
