Adaro to stop selling E4500

Having stated to introduce new product this year, South Kalimantan coal miner PT Adaro Indonesia, the coal mining unit of IDX-listed PT Adaro Energy have stated it will cease production and sales of its E4500 brand.
The company said on Thursday that the E4500 will no longer be in the market soon after the launching of E4700, mined from the a new pit on the north part of its Tutupan concession.
The new E4700, the company said, is not resulted from blending of its various coal, but a stand alone product with the calorific value of 4,700 kcal/kg GAR.
Adaro stated that it has received requests from several of its key markets, namely India, China, Korea, Vietnam, Japan and Thailand, in which it targeted to sell up to 8 million tons of the new brand this year.
At present, the company has three products, namely E-5000 (Tutupan Coal), E-4000 (Wara Coal) and a new brand, which is the blending results of E-5000 and E-4000 coal branded E-4500.
