Adaro urged to better cooperate with subcontractors

Tabalong regency council members in South Kalimantan have urged coal producer PT Adaro Indonesia to develop closer cooperation with its contractors to prevent social unrest from happening in the area, local daily Banjarmasin Post reported on Friday.

?We hope that PT Adaro and its subcontractors will be more friendly to each other so that they could do better to prevent social jealousy from taking place in this area,? the paper quoted as saying Tabalong council member Suriansyah.

Suriansyah said there had been conflicts between certain leaders of Adaro and those from its contractors. He did not explain, however.

Adaro, Indonesia?s top coal producer operates in Tabalong, Hulu Sungai Utara regency and other areas in South Kalimantan. (*)
