ADB provides loans for power transmission projects

Manila-based Asian Development Bank (ADB) is preparing billions of dollars of loans under its new result based lending (RBL) scheme to help finance power transmission projects in Indonesia.
Bisnis Indonesia quoted ADB Country Director in Indonesia, Steven Tabor as saying Saturday that state-owned electricity firm PT PLN last year received US$600 million loan facility under the RBL scheme to help finance high voltage power transmission projects in Sumatra.
Tabor said that this year, ADB plans to allocate $1.5 billion for similar projects in Indonesia, and to further increase through 2018 to support the government?s target of developing a combined 35,000 MW power plants in the 2015-2019 period.(*)
