ADC plans to increase coal trading volume

Operations Manager Joko Martono told Petromindo.Com on Tuesday that the company, which source most of its coal from concession holders in South Kalimantan, has traded 500,000 tonnes of coal until the end of third quarter.
ADC?s main customer is sister company PT. Indonesia Power which runs the Suralaya 3,400-MW power plant in Banten province. ADC sells coal to Suralaya and other retail domestic customers in Banten.
Next year ADC is planning to sell to export market, said Joko. Currently, ADC is in talks with trader which represented power plants in Port Dickson, Malaysia, and Manila, the Philippines, he said.
Aside from trading, ADC also involved in coal transportation business through vessels it chartered. Up until the third quarter of this year, ADC has shipped 1.8 million tonnes of coal from Berau Coal and Kideco Jaya Agung to Suralaya, he said. (denny)
