Indonesia listed construction company PT PT Adhi Karya Tbk (ADHI) will take part in the tender for the engineering, procurement and construction of a coal-fired power plant which will be built in Timika, Papua with total investment of about Rp 1 trillion, Investor Daily reported Thursday.

ADHI?s Corpotate Secretary Amrozi Hamidi said in Jakarta on Wednesday that the company would not team up with other companies in bidding the power plant, which has been delayed for several times.

PLTU Timika, which will have capacity of 4 x 7 megawatt, will be built in Ayuka village, Mimika district. The tender will be third for the power plant because the first and second tenders were cancelled because estimated costs of the power plant were far higher than state electricity company PLN?s estimate, said.

State electricity company PLN President Director Nur Pamudji said the previous two tenders were cancelled because estimated costs of the power plant were far higher than PLN?s estimate.

Pamudji said PLN would invite all state owned construction companies to take part in the tender.

Amrozi said that in addition to PLTU Timika, Adhi Karya also joined the tender for EPC of Pertamina?s project worth about US$500 million in Senoro, Riau.(*)
