East Kalimantan coal miner PT Adimitra Baratama Nusantara is seeking to hire more contractors to boost its coal output to 4-5 million tons in 2011 from this year?s target of 3 million, the company?s official said.

Michael Soerijadji told Petromindo.Com last week that currently the company is using Indonesia-listed mining contractor firm PT Petrosea Tbk as main contractor and other local contractor.

?We are searching the potential contractor to boost our coal output,? he said.

In August 2009, Adimitra has appointed Petrosea to conduct mining works. It planned to produce 2 milion tons in the first year and ramp up the output to 3 million tons in the following years under 5-year contract.

He said that this year?s coal production is impacted by the unfavorable weather condition but he is convinced that the company will meet this year?s target of 3 million tons. ?We still commit to fulfilling our commitment to our buyers,? he added.

Adimitra clinched a 3.8 million tons supply deal with trading firm Flame SA for 4-year contract starting September 2009.

Adimitra has also secured 3.5 million tons coal supply contract with energy trading firm Vitol for three years until 2012, starting Oct 2009.

The company?s has JORC-compliant reserves of 37 MT with resources of more than 100 MT with CV of 5,800-6,300Kcal/kg (ADB).(denny)
