East Kalimantan coal miner PT Adimitra Baratama Nusantara (ABN) sees lower coal output for this year to around 4 million tons, from initial target of 5.7 million tons due to unfavorable global coal price, an industrial source told petromindo.com.

The company is targeting to produce around 7-8 million tons in 2013, the source said.

The company has hired 3 contractors to boost output with main contractor being PT Petrosea. The two other local contractors are PT Bangun Karya Pratama Lestari and PT Arkananta Apta Pratista.

Petrosea as the main contractor is expecting to produce around 3 million tons of coal for this year, up from last year figure of 2.4 million tons.

Main buyers are Switzerland-based trading firm Flame SA and Vitol Asia Pte. Ltd., under a 3-year contract ended December 2012 and September 2012, respectively.

Adimitra has IUP license which covers an area of 3,000 hectares in Kutai Kartanegara regency. The mine has two types of coal products: 5,800 kcal/kg (GAR) and 5,200 kcal/kg (GAR) with total sulphur below 1.0%.

ABN is coal unit of IDX-listed coal mining group PT Toba Bara Sejahtra Tbk.
