East Kalimantan coal miner PT Adimitra Baratama Nusantara (ABN) has shortened its mine contract services period with contractor firm PT Bangun Karya Pratama Lestari (BKPL), an industrial source told Pertromindo.com.
Under original contract, ABN agreed to use the services of BKPL for overburden removal, coal hauling and ripping activities for five years, starting 2008.
The contract should be ended on February 20, 2013 but both parties agreed to cut the contract period only until July 2012.
With the termination, ABN has two mine contractors with the main one being PT Petrosea and the other is PT Arkananta Apta Pratista (AAP). AAP bagged overburden removal and coal hauling contract since March, 2011 for next 3 years.
ABN is coal unit of IDX-listed coal miner group PT Toba Bara Sejahtra.
