Adimitra starts E. Kalimantan coal production

East Kalimantan coal miner PT.Adimitra Baratama Nusantara has started coal production in December 2008 and is looking to produce 3 million this year.

Company's senior official Michael Soerijadji told Petromindo.Com on Monday the company?s mine produced 70,000 tonnes of coal in December, 50,000 of which was sold to Italian trading firm Flame SA and the rest to Glencore AG.

Soerijadji said in 2009, the company would sell 10 percent of planned production, or 300,000 tonnes to Glencore. ?We?re still in talks with other buyers,? he said, without giving specific detail.

The company mines for the coal in Kutai Kartanegara regency. Coal from the mine is barged to an anchorage in Muara Jawa.

The company has a KP license which covers an area of 3,000 hectares in Kutai Kartanegara regency. The mine produces coal with CV range of 5,800-6,300Kcal/kg. (denny
