AE Automotion begs US$8.1 million coal-fired power plant contract

Malaysian AE Models Holdings Bhd (MAE) said Sunday that a 59.45 percent owned subsidiary PT AE Automotion Indonesia has clinched a US$8.1 million power plant contract in Indonesia.

The company said its subsidiary had received a letter of acceptance and notice to proceed by PT Kaltim Supacoal for the design and construction of an 8 MW coal-fired power plant.

The project is for the Tabang Coal Upgrade Project.

The project in East Kalimantan had started and was expected to be completed by the end of May 2008, MAE said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia.

PT AE Automotion's principal activities are fabrication, manufacture and marketing of materials handling systems and accessories.

PT Kaltim Supacoal's principal activity is mainly exploiting the patented briquetting process, primarily with the view to export the upgraded coal to power utilities in Asia Pacific region. (*)
