Attorney General Marzuki Darusman said that his office would soon upgrade the investigation into 10 big graft cases in state oil firm Pertamina, including those involving children of former president Soeharto.

He also promised to step up investigation against 3 big cases involving former energy and mines minister Ginandjar Kartasasmita, namely the Balongan, Arco and Bontang cases.

Speaking to reporters after receiving Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Puronomo Yusgiantoro, Marzuki said that the 10 graft cases in Pertamina, among 159 graft cases presented by Pertamina to Marzuki's office, were currently handled by intelligence prosecutors. In three months time, those 10 cases would be transferred to prosecutors handling special crimes for possible prosecutions.

The 10 cases include a case involving Ustraindo, owned by Hutomo Mandala Putra and Siti Hardiyanti Rukmana.

Marzuki said that the three cases involving Ginandjar, currently deputy speaker of the country's highest legislative body, the MPR, would be handled separately, and they would also soon handed over to prosecutors handling special crimes.

Meanwhile, Purnomo also reported graft allegations involving businessman Moh. Bob Hasan, a close aide of Soeharto, over his ownership in insurance company Tugu Pratama Insurance. (*)
