AGO detains five PLN officials over graft allegation

The Attorney General?s Office (AGO) has detained five officials of state-owned electricity firm in relation to alleged corruption in the supply of flame turbine worth more than Rp 23 billion for a power plant in Belawan, North Sumatra.

Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes, Adi Toegarisman said Wednesday that the PT. Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) officials will be detained for 20 days to facilitate the AGO probe into the alleged graft case.

The officials are Ferdinand Ritonga, Fahmi Rizal Lubis, Albert Pangaribuan, Edward Silitonga, and Robert Manyuazar.

The AGO suspected there has been a mark-up in the purchase price of the turbine.
