Several former top leaders of now-defunct BPMIGAS have been probed by law enforcers at the Attorney General?s Office (AGO) over the renting of spaces at the Wisma Mulia building for the agency?s office.

BPMIGAS initially rented office spaces at the Patra Jasa building, situated across the street from Wisma Mulia on Jl. Gatot Subroto. In 2011, the agency moved its office to Wisma Mulia and SKK Migas, which replaced BPMIGAS in 2013, keeps its office there until now.

Sources said there were four persons probed at AGO, namely former BPMIGAS head Raden Priyono, Lambok H. Hutauruk, Rizal Azir and Gde Pradnyana. Rizal and Gde are still active at SKK Migas.

?That?s right. I was probed yesterday at AGO. They asked me about the leasing of the office spaces in Wisma Mulia. I explained to them why we moved from Patra Jasa to Wisma Mulia,? one of the four persons, who wanted to remain anonymous, told Petromindo.com.

The leasing of Wisma Mulia sparked criticism from anti-corruption activists several years ago. Indonesian Corruption Watch (ICW) was quoted by the media as saying back in 2013 that BPMIGAS paid Rp 347.2 billion for a 5-year lease of office spaces at Wisma Mulia. In comparison, the government only spent Rp 168 billion to build an office building for the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
