Hong Kong-listed Agritrade Resources Limited said it has completed a coal upgrading facility to increase the quality of coal from its mine in Central Kalimantan.

?In March 2015, the company completed the construction of its own coal upgrading facility using GEO-COALTM technology, which targets to process and upgrade our PT Senamas Energindo Mineral (SEM) coals into higher quality coals with increase calorific value and lower moisture levels, where the group expects the profit margins for SEM coal will be increased after the upgrading process,? Agritrade said in a statement last week.

Agritrade?s subsidiary SEM operates a 2,000-ha coal concession in Barito Timur Regency, Central Kalimantan. The company produces its own brand of SEM coal, a sub-bituminous, low-sulphur, low-pollutant thermal coal with calorific value (as received basis) of 3,800 kcal/kg in its raw form.
