Ailing state firm to be assigned to transport PLN?s coal

Government will assign ailing state shipping firm PT Djakarta Lloyd (Persero) to ship coal for power plants owned by state electricity firm PT PLN (Persero), Minister of State Enterprises Mustafa Abubakar said on Friday as quoted by media.
According to Abubakar, cooperation between the two state companies will help improve Djakarta Lloyd?s financial condition.
Under the cooperation deal, which MoU is scheduled to be signed next week, Djakarta Lloyd will ship 5 million tones per annum of PLN?s coal to power plants in Labuan and Sibolga, both are located in North Sumatra, Pelabuhan Ratu in West Java and Pacitan in East Java under long-term contract, Special Staff to the Minister Ekoputro Adijayanto said.(*)
