Akbar Indo plans coal stockpile in South Kalimantan

Pharmaceutical distribution company PT Akbar Indo Makmur Stimec (AIMS) plans to build a coal stockpile in Banjar regency, South Kalimantan, in an effort to diversify its business to coal trading and mining.

In a statement to the Jakarta Stock Exchange, AIMS said in Jakarta on Thursday that it would acquire a total of 104.790 square meter lands in Batu Balian village for the location of the stockpile for about Rp 12.55 billion.

AIMS plans to focus on coal trading and coal mining business in the future. In 2004, the company created a new division in its organization to handle general and coal trading amid rising demand for coal in the global market. (denny)
