AKR?s 2009 net profit increases by 31 percent

IDX-listed fuel distributor and logistics firm AKR Corporindo Tbk said on Tuesday that its 2009 net profit reached Rp 274.7 billion (1 US$ = Rp 9,070), an increase of 31 percent compared to the previous year's.
Consolidated sales revenue in 2009 reached Rp 8.96 trillion.
The increase in profit came a result of strong growth in petroleum sales and stable sales of basic chemicals, sarbitol and starch sweetener business, the company said in a statement.
The company sold 1.025 million kiloliters of petroleum products in 2009, up 53 percent compared to 2008. Sales of basic chemicals reached 904,000 MT in 2009. (denny)
