AKR 's January-September fuel sales increase by 35%

Indonesian listed fuel and chemical distributor AKR Corporindo Tbk's fuel sales reached 950,691 kiloliters worth Rp 5.14 trillion (US$=Rp 8,935) in the first nine months of the year, up 35 percent compared to last year?s corresponding period, .

Selling price averaged Rp 5,419/liter, an increase of 14 percent from the same period of last year, the company announced on Friday.

Fuel business, which accounts for 60 percent of AKR?s consolidated sales revenue of Rp 8.53 trillion during the first nine month of 2010, continued to be the growth driver. Fuel sales growth is driven by strong demand from mining sector especially in the eastern part of the country, it said.

The company said that the outlook of fuel sales is still bright thanks to growth in mining, power and bunker sectors, adding that it will improve overall throughput capacity utilization of its fuel terminals.

The company supplies high speed diesel, fuel oil and other refined petroleum products to mining, power, bunker and industrial sectors, from its network of 15 terminals in Indonesia. (denny)
