AKR says Jakarta fuel terminal to be operational in Q4

IDX-listed fuel distributor and logistics firm PT AKR Corporindo said its 51%-owned fuel terminal in Jakarta will become operational in the fourth quarter of 2009.

The company said in a presentation filed with the IDX on Wednesday that the Jakarta Tank Terminal project, which is located in the port of Tanjung Priok, will have initial capacity of 250,000 kiloliters. The terminal capacity will be ramped up by another 200,000 kiloliters in 2012, the company said earlier.

Dutch storage firm Royal Vopak has 49 percent stake in the project.

The company said the terminal is equipped with submarine pipeline and two jetties that can handle tankers with 65,000 DWT plus 8,000 DWT.(alex)
